Your child’s greatest learning starts with you.
You are there for your child 24/7.
But who supports you?
Parenting is hard. And it’s one of the most important roles you play. You are a constant companion, nurse, superhero, personal chef, IT consultant, entertainer, activities director, playdate coordinator, chauffeur, and of course, a teacher. We get it.
More than ever, parents need support. We have become a society where families are working harder, are more isolated and often can’t rely on the same community constructs of years ago, when other family, neighborhood parents and elders were an active part of shepherding our kids through childhood. Now, with the added constraints of Covid-19, your resources have diminished even further.
How do you meet the needs of your kids in this modern world, while taking care of yourself?
Where do you get guidance when you have questions or aren’t sure what strategies to try next?
Who We Are
Parent Sidekick is a coaching and support system for you and your family, founded, designed and driven by dynamic career teachers.
As a parent, you are the most important educator in your child’s life. If you are to continue in that role with grace, energy and joy, you deserve support as well. And in order to give your best to your child, you must have the space to recharge and reinvigorate your own spirit, so you can also be at your best for you.
Because how can you light a fire, if you are too burned out to feel your own flame?
That’s where we come in.

What We Do
Think of me like your parenting sidekick (yes, just like Robin.)
Just as your child has specific needs, you have unique challenges as a parent too. I’m here to be a support system for your parenting practice. Because parenting IS a practice, changing and evolving with your child’s growth and development and our constantly changing world (hello, social distancing). Here are some of the ways I can support you to cultivate your inner-greatness and become a parenting superhero.
Home Learning Environment
It’s no easy task to balance living, working and home learning in the same spaces together. We’ll look at helpful ways to set up the best virtual learning environment for your child, taking into account your physical and creative space, tools and resources you have at hand and how to integrate routines that work for everyone.
Engaging Tools + Resources
With so many educational tools available, how do you know which ones will work well for your child? (Short answer: it takes thoughtful experimentation!). We can curate a customized set of books, games, videos and other products based on your child’s learning style and your own teaching and parenting style.
SEL + Mindfulness
There are many ways to connect your heart, body and mind, especially when it comes to supporting your child’s social and emotional learning. I”ll share my favorite tools and strategies for getting your child to talk about their feelings, develop self-awareness and self-regulation, build independence, and create self-confidence.
Nature-Based Learning + Play
Getting kids into nature is our jam! When you bring the indoor classroom outside, a whole new world of wonder and learning opens up, helping your child feel connected to everything around them. Especially during this time of social distance and limited social interaction, nature is your greatest teaching ally. Learn ways to play, explore & adventure as a family.
Life Skills + Wellness
Life skills are the building blocks of your child’s growth, health and well-being. We’ll experiment with ways to empower them to become more self-sufficient, be an active contributor in their life at home, feel empowered and have more agency, become interested in their personal health and wellness, with extra tools to support you in avoiding parent burnout.
Modeling + Family Communication
Your child is watching everything you do as they look for cues on how to engage with the world around them. How you model and communicate with them is your parenting superpower! Together we will look at your specific style (verbal + nonverbal), ways to resolve conflict, practices for giving praise and how to have courageous family conversations.
